This weekend while we host the Marion Hawks for four games, we have the opportunity to partner with the American Cancer Society to raise awareness. For 30 years, the Coaches vs. Cancer program, in collaboration with the National Association of Basketball Coaches, has united coaches and fans nationwide to help the American Cancer Society defeat a common enemy. We encourage everyone to wear purple to the games in solidarity as the ongoing fight against cancer has affected many around us, and within our own community here at GCS. There will be donation jars at the gate and at concessions for anyone who would like to donate. The link below or the QR code can also be used to make a donation as well. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. There will be different announcements throughout the day along with signs that will be filled out by the players. The American Cancer Society also has a Suits and Sneakers event taking place this week where coaches all across the country wear basketball shoes while coaching to raise awareness. Our coaches will be seen on Saturday wearing basketball shoes in support of the ongoing fight. The Junior High girls kick off the day with the first game beginning at 4pm.
